Overtime, fabric can start to fade or get damaged. Instead of buying all new furniture, reupholstering furniture can save time and lots of money. Whether for indoor or outdoor patio furniture, there are many options to make your furniture new and beautiful again.

Outdoor patio furniture upholstery fabrics have come a long way. They are now made with UV blockers that help keep out the suns rays and greatly reduce fading. The materials used are also naturally stain resistant. Another great thing about patio fabrics is they do not promote the growth of mold and mildew, an often common problem with outdoor patio furniture fabrics. Simple cleaning with soap and water will keep outdoor patio furniture fabric clean.Indoor furniture has a great range of fabrics available. Upholstery fabrics can be chosen in all types of materials. Some are just prints, while others can be woven, double woven, tapestries, damask, silk, chenille, and many, many more. These types of fabrics vary greatly in price, with very intricate fabrics becoming quite expensive.

Both types of material offer lots of variety. Indoor fabrics have numerous materials and designs to choose from. Outdoor fabrics also come in a variety of colors and patterns, so you can get a definite match for your room or patio.

There are so many options for fabrics, so be sure to shop around when selecting a new look for your furniture. Look for a fabric that suits your needs, whether it is low maintenance for outdoor furniture, or timeless elegance for indoor furniture.

The classic Futon sits straight on the floor though there are now many designs of the bi-fold that have legs

The first futon introduced into American culture was constructed of a simple cotton mattress that could be placed directly on the floor and easily folded to save space.Since then, in the American bedding industry, futons have evolved to a dual-purpose seating and bedding product that offers an alternative to the traditional sofa bed.

Futons are not fireproof. Today’s version of the futon usually has a frame, cover, and mattress that may contain cotton batting, synthetic batting or polyurethane foam padding materials that may catch fire if touched by a cigarette, match, lighter, or other open flame.

The mechanisms of the frames are divided into two types, the bi-fold and the tri-fold. The mattress needs only to be folded once with the bi-fold whereas it needs to be folded three times with the tri-fold

Futon quality mattress is durable, beautiful and very versatile when decorating any room. There are no better mattresses available for comfort and durability then modern futon mattresses.

When choosing a Futon: consider the quality of the frames, making sure it appears sturdy and is made of good materials. Choose the mattress carefully according to whether it is generally to be used as a sleeper or a sofa.

For many years, chandeliers were used primarily in foyers and dining rooms, but today, homeowners are installing them all over the house, from the master bedrooms and master baths to great rooms and powder rooms.

Most of the time, chandeliers are sold without the shades and are often used that way. Adding or changing shades gives you a totally different appearance and reinvents the piece. To determine the size of a chandelier that will hang in a foyer, or any room, just add the room dimensions together. If your foyer is 12′ by 16′, add 12 + 16=28. The proper size chandelier for this space would be 28″ in diameter.

Chandelier bulbs come in up to 60 watts so if you have a 10-arm chandelier, that’s 600 watts. Try using 40- or even 25-watt bulbs for the right amount of light in your space. Go one step further and install a dimmer to control the glow even more.

Choose a chandelier with a diameter equal to the width of the table. For example, if the table is 54″, select a chandelier with a 27″ diameter. The chandelier should hang approximately 30-32″ above the tabletop. This is low enough to complement your table settings, but high enough to be out of the way.

Glass chandeliers require careful approaches and procedures for care that are different from those for metal or metal and glass lighting devices. In a dining room that’s totally open with nothing but columns delineating the space, you may be able to go with something larger.

Cleaning your chandelier once a year will keep it shining to its original brilliance. Use a damp or dry cloth to clean your chandelier.

Building a fire has gone from a necessity to a luxury and with time a decorative fireplace has been proven to have a certain inexplicable quality that brings about a soothing feeling. Since the Victorian era fireplaces have been used to add a hint of class and sophistication to the home. The decorative fireplace not only provides an effective method of heating but also adds a lot of sentimental value to the house.

It is a traditional concept in most homes that families get together at the decorative fireplace. The children do their homework there as the grandmother rocks on her rocking chair. The mother is busy doing her knitting work and the grandfather and father share a smoke or an evening glass of drink. Sitting with your loved ones in the warmth of natural fire provides a sense of security and satisfaction that cannot be explained with words. Fire emits a divine energy that helps strengthen bonds and gives rise to sensations that calm the body and are soothing to the mind. With the advance in technology and the increase in modern gadgets people have forgotten the value of being close to natural elements. These days television has become a common pass time and is making family members distant from each other. The decorative fireplace is an important instrument in keeping the family closely knit as it provides peace during times of disturbance and warmth on cold days. Heat has always been used for healing pain and driving sorrow away. A fireplace is the perfect way to keep your family together.

It is certain that the fireplace provides warmth which is far more relaxing and soothing than any modern means of heating.

Decorative interior painting offers unlimited possibilities for customizing and personalizing your home. Apart from the task of choosing and mixing colors, you will have to arrange them into shapes on your surface. Gaining confidence in handling your material and equipment is all part of the pleasure of decorating.

Decisions about color are always going to require pause for reflection. You may choose colors because of the memories they evoke, for cultural reasons, or because they are soothing. There is no doubt that the best way to do this is to practice. These choices are all personal, and only you can make them. Some designs can be helped onto wall or floor with stencils and stamps. Some design classic will always remain, but they can be adapted to suit the current look. The wall you are to work on should be well prepared and white.

These are an excellent way of controlling where your paint goes, as well as a means of covering a surface quickly. Whatever you do, always look at other interiors, at textiles, clothing, and painting, and take your lead from those you like.

Blue with green, for example, is perfectly acceptable. You may seek guidance in color theory, but understanding the spectrum and how to mix paint will not be much help in choosing which colors to use, although it can explain why certain color combination behave in the way they do.

These are simply ways of applying and manipulating paint to create a range of surface texture. The end result will always have a quality that cannot be matched by any wallpaper.

There where you need it and out of sight when you don’t, retractable screen doors can maximize the view while letting in fresh air.

Retractable screen doors such as those from ODL feature few parts and a new magnetic latch for a more secure closure. An exclusive SlamProof system prevents pinched fingers and ensures safe recoil into the housing unit. In addition, weather stripping in the top and bottom track keeps dirt and insects out of the home. The retractable screen door works on inswing, outswing and sliding doors. The screen fits neatly into the housing unit and blends cleanly into the door frame when retracted. Then, when engaged, the retractable screen door is nearly invisible, fully covering the doorway opening and allowing maximum airflow into the home. Made with a durable fiberglass screen, it resists damage from hands and pets.

Best of all, you don’t need a professional installer. The screen comes ready to install and installation can typically be completed in one to two hours. The pictured steps are all that’s required.

Step 1 Install the screen housing.

Step 3 Install tracks and sill plate.

Step 2 Cut tracks and sill plate to the correct width of your door.

Step 4 Install magnetic catch.

The key to designing a successful outdoor living space is to create an area that reflects the architectural character of the home as well as the personality of the homeowners who inhabit the space. Deck designs that plan for the elements last 20+ years. Decks without a proper plan age quickly.

The most important consideration in deck designs is how you will use it, how large a group will you need space for? Will you need adequate lighting to entertain at night? A good deck plan makes it easy to build a deck yourself, or hire a professional to build the deck you want. Choose materials that complement your backyard setting. The deck can be considered a floor structure, with joists to support the flooring material and posts and beams to hold the unit up off the ground, slightly elevated or higher. Deck designs are popular home improvements that not only add to the value of your home, but also provide a focal point for enjoying the outdoors.

A deck can be freestanding or attached to a house and can feature a roof, benches, matching flowerpots and ornate railings.

Once you have a rough idea of what you want, draw two sketches-one of your lot Take the sketch to your local home center or lumberyard and ask a salesperson to estimate and price the materials you’ll need. You can have a spectacular deck to meet all your needs and then some.

Stainless steel is made from iron and other metals, which is strong and resists against wear and tear. It is inexpensive, long lasting and is most popular in North America. The metals used in stainless steel or iron, may produce health effects such as iron, nickel and chromium.

Ceramic pottery, enamel or glass cookware is easily cleaned and can be heated to fairly high temperatures. Ceramic is glazed; similar glazes are applied to metals to make enamelware. These glazes, a form of glass, resist wear and corrosion. For cooking and storing food, plastic is lightweight and nearly unbreakable. Many containers have been made for use in microwave ovens, where metal cookware is not suitable.

Stainless steel cookware should be washed in hot, soapy water or a warm ammonia and water solution, thoroughly rinsed and immediately dried to avoid water spots. Use mild, stainless steel cleaners or light scouring with a plastic or stainless steel scouring pad to remove most stains; don’t use steel wool, chlorine bleach or alcohol

Cast iron cookware is usually pre-seasoned coated with unsalted fat and heated to prevent rusting, unless porcelain coated. It should be washed in warm, sudsy water and frequently treated by coating the cast iron interior surface with unsalted shortening, left until its next use, and then wiped out. To re-season, scour the pan completely, rinse and dry; then coat the inside with unsalted fat and leave in moderate oven for two hours. Remove and wipe off excess grease

To remove copper cookware discoloration, use commercial cleaner or a mixture of flour, salt, lemon juice and ammonia applied before regular washing. Wash chrome cookware with warm water and soap or detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

In fact, the tradition of the northern Italian furniture factories (particularly those in Veneto and Lombardy) is a significant baggage and know-how that has reached an important expertise.

So what is the actual risk for these companies?

The main difficulty consists in being able to make the most of these precious inherited competences and sell them in the right terms, in the right moment and in the right way.Nowadays, where the modern society doesn’t assess the quality of an item almost anymore but its production costs and time, a craft-made good expressly made on measure, incurs into the risk of being declassed and considered too expensive compared to the industrial competitor goods of East and North Europe Countries.

Therefore, it is necessary that traditional furniture-makers, specialized in handicraft furniture production, offer their goods and furnishing complements with the right approach, that is emphasizing their distinctiveness in tactile features, strength and accuracy not even comparable to the industrial low-cost correspondent products.

For instance, the marketing solution adopted by the Zilio Group could be reported as a suitable reaction to this matter: a creation of a website that gathers either Zilio Mobili’s traditional products either those complements of furnishing presented by Elisa Mobili.

In this way, the classic furniture company is capable of proposing its products to the Italian and European customers and potentially to those of the entire world. An experience that other furniture factories could endeavour in order to develop the production of classic Italian furniture in Italy and in the whole planet.
